Family Law

Whether you are going through a divorce or separation, it can be a very stressful time in your life. In order to minimize the conflict and the impact the separation may have on your children and yourself, it is important that both parties consult a lawyer and obtain information with respect to their rights and obligations.

Separating from your partner or spouse does not necessarily have to involve the court and parties can achieve a Separation Agreement through lawyer negotiations and/or mediation. However, in certain contentious matters, the court is the proper forum to resolve the dispute.

Contact Swan & Saenz LLP for an initial consultation today to understand your rights and obligations.

Wills & Estates

Everybody over the age of 18 years of age should have a Will and a Power of Attorney for Personal Care and Property.

Your Will should be updated once you get married, divorced or have children. A will is important so that all of your affairs are in order and it ensures that the administration of your estate is a smooth and cost effective process for your loved ones.

A Power of Attorney is also extremely important and sets out who will make decisions on your behalf if you do not have the requisite capacity or if you are unable to do so. If you do not have this document in place and you lose capacity, the government will make decisions on your behalf.
